Filters for use in aircraft cockpits have to meet the most demanding requirements for NVG compatibility whilst adhering to strict colour specifications and having high enough transmission and contrast enhancement to maintain sunlight readability. The various parameters are rigorously defined in standards such as MIL-STD-3009.

Consolite supplies a complete range of filter types to meet these requirements. These include both glass and polymeric types, as well as the latest advance in glass-polymer hybrid technology, NS Glass. Absorption and interference filter types are available, and we will advise on the best solution to match your specific requirement.

Filters are available for all forms of cockpit instrument and illumination, including caption indicators and switches, central warning panels, utility and flood lights, LED displays and illuminated panels. Consolite has developed a range of techniques for filtering of full colour LCD screens, employing both internally and externally mounted filters for MFDs and other displays such as moving maps and camera monitors.

Most filter types are retained in stock, either in sheet form, ready for cutting, or finished as ring and bathtub filters, and so can be delivered to short lead times.
