Consolite Forensics is a division of Consolite Technology established to exploit new technologies in the world of forensic science. The first product it brings to the market is CERA (Cartridge Electrostatic Recovery and Analysis). This uses the revolutionary new technique, invented by Dr.John Bond of Northamptonshire Police, that extracts latent fingerprints from discharged cartridge cases. It can do so even though the fingerprint deposits have been vapourised by the action of firing the cartridge, and are otherwise invisible. CERA has been conceived as a self contained laboratory machine that reveals the fingerprints with minimal operator intervention. It includes a fully integrated camera and lighting system to generate a complete 360 degree image of the print from the cartridge surface, in the required format for input to an automated fingerprint identification system. Further information on the system is available on the dedicated Consolite Forensics web site at www.consoliteforensics.com. |
